Recap from Ann Sullivan:
Thank you to everyone for attending the fly-in which I thought was very
successful. Here are a few points that stuck with me that I thought I would
share with you.
I was surprised at the candor of the agency folks and found their comments
helpful to give us the lay of the land, given all the changes in
procurement/policy.
With respect to the Congressional speakers, I was struck by the difference in
the timetable between the Trump Administration’s actions which move at
lightning speed and the Congressional timetable which seems eons behind
them. It seemed to me that the Congress is very much in an information
gathering mode rather than feeling the pressure to match the energy of the
Trump Administration.
I expected to hear that the WOSB program could be on the chopping block but
gratefully did not hear that . My number one takeaway was that now more
than ever, the WPC serves a very important purpose. We will continue to
influence how the government buys from us and vigorously pursue policy
changes to increase the government’s contracts to women owned
companies. That’s why we need to keep in front of decision makers.
